General Description of Work Experience

Dr. Allison Salvino has worked for the Veterans Health Administration for almost eight years, two Fortune 500 corporations - in sales, has been on hospital ethics boards, provided training and consultation for small and large (mega) churches, and has been a leader in clinical integrative spiritual and mental health care. She has worked as a chaplain in Colorado's state mental health hospitals, for the US Marshalls, and in community medical facilities. Her post-education mediation supervision and field experience in high level EEO and workplace disputes has been through the Office of Dispute Resolution for the Department of Veterans Affairs, a government agency.

Dr. Salvino's education and work experience has equipped her to be a competent mediator and coach. Her doctoral project displays her competence level in the skillful application of integrative approaches to clinical care. Dr. Salvino has almost eight years of experience working within high conflict workplace and relationship contexts. Her work experience provides clients with the assurance that she can handle conflict and think strategically in complex mediation and coaching situations. Her doctoral project can be found in the Vanderbilt University library. Dr. Salvino's progressive education at Vanderbilt and Iliff has helped her to understand social contexts and to work with full respect for diversity and difference in all areas of life. Her undergraduate education at Regis University was foundational for developing her commitment to safe boundaries and scope of practice integrity.
Dr. Salvino's doctoral degree from Vanderbilt University uniquely positions her to be an effective coach as she is trained to work at the intersection of spirituality and psychology. This intersection is where meaning-making occurs, and it is often missed with practitioners who are unaware of how values influence coaching and mediation. This is the degree from which she earned the credential for Doctor of Ministry (DMin.): Dr. Allison Salvino, DMin., BCC - MH & WVH.
